INTERVIEW WITH DARE DRIVERS BRADDERSTIG & POSH ROB BY MAX KIDMARK
MAX KIDMARK:- So lads. Your first season as a team at DARE together, how do you feel things have gone so far for you both?

BRADDERSTIG:- I believe they've gone very well. We both bring different things to the team and work well together.
​
POSH ROB:- Yeah pretty much same as what Brad has said work really well as a team, we have a good laugh but when it comes to the nitty gritty we focus on the job in hand.
MAX KIDMARK:- This season has seen some new drivers join and others improve vastly. Who have you seen as your main rivals so far?
​
BRADDERSTIG:- My main rivals will always be Mike and Billy. But with the progress of the rest of the field, everyone is my rival. Including Kinkycowboys.
​
POSH ROB:- I would say my main rival this season is RML they have a championship winning driver and probably the best car on the grid so do we want to beat them of course we do.
MAX KIDMARK:- Your second in the teams table and both in the top 6. A good debut season for you.
Your sister team DART haven't been so fortunate. What's the relationship like between the two teams?

POSH ROB:- The relationship between the 2 teams is very good, some great banter. We get on well and if you would of said to me that we would be second in the teams and challenging RML at the start of the season, I would of been overjoyed. It's going to be a great scrap to the wire.
BRADDERSTIG:- In regards to DART, we have a good relationship. We don't get involved too much, as they have a very good tuner in Major Raver, but they know DARE are here to help if it's needed and I'm sure the feeling is mutual.

MAX KIDMAN:- What must be nice is this may be the time Plymouth will beat Portsmouth in a league
So what's the best bits and worst bits of being involved with Dare/Dart?

BRADDERSTIG:- Best bit is the close relationship between all 4 drivers. Worst bit is my teammate is almost matching my pace meaning I need to work harder every race.
POSH ROB:- You had to bring that up about Plymouth and Portsmouth, lol. Best thing I would say about being involved in the teams is the friendship and the banter between the two sides, worst bit is Major Raver ripping me for being a Plymouth fan and now Bradderstig is jumping on the bandwagon. What you don't see is that back in the factory Wambogini can be as bad as his teammate for practical jokes.
BRADDERSTIG:- The team is lucky DARE aren't like Plymouth, lol.
POSH ROB:- Bugger off you, lol. See what I have to put up with, I get it from all sides of the garage.

MAX KIDMARK:- DART have been the first to announce their car for season three, with the tie in with BMW GB and the M2, any hints on what you will be driving.
​
BRADDERSTIG:-There are a few cars in mind. But we'll be holding our cards close for the time being. We have tested many cars and we want to get it right.
POSH ROB:- Something with 4 wheels, lol.
​
POSH ROB:- No, in all seriousness still deciding between us what to go for, we have a shortlist but like Brad said we are not gonna show our hand just yet we will let our fellow competitors show there’s first then we can get a rough idea of what we will be up against. The DART boys shared what was going on from day one with us, we knew what they were looking at and Major Raver has done more testing for season 3 already than he has for Season 2. We know they have picked very well.
MAX KIDMARK:- All very cloak and dagger then, the Ferrari seems an inspired choice this season. A good well balanced car which you both seem to be getting the best out of.
With the new pi rules coming in to play next season do you think this will close the field up a bit more? Or do you expect the same people to be at the sharp end come the end of the season?

POSH ROB:- I think it will close up the field because the pi drops will start to suit FWD runners a lot so I think there will be different and new winners next season and this will make it a more wide open championship not only for drivers championship but team championship as well.
MAX KIDMARK:- Hopefully that will be the case.
Now we've seen the two of you also pairing up in the Modsport and the Classic WTCC. How do you feel those two championships are going?

BRADDERSTIG:- Going very well. Currently fighting for both championships, and achieved a 1-2 in California.
POSH ROB:- Yeah feel it’s going good with the Ford Sierra Cosworth. It is a joy to drive and so is the Mazda, we are really looking forward to Barcelona on Sunday and then the America’s Cup the following week.

MAX KIDMARK:- Yes you almost seem to be driving the little Mazda beyond its capabilities!! You were both very quick to snap up the Iconic Sierra RS500 too. Any chance we might see either of these cars reconfigured to run in the next series of thunder?
​
BRADDERSTIG:- I don't think so. With pi changes, I believe the Sierra to be too heavy, and the little MX5 lacking torque. I do love the testing and development part and finding the right car for the whole season.
​
MAX KIDMARK:- Talking of the Modsport and Classic WTCC. Do you think either of these championships could be improved at all?
​
BRADDERSTIG:- I think they are spot on as they are!
POSH ROB:- Yeah agreed absolutely spot on, I really enjoy them. Really looking forward to the new Touring Car Sunday next season as well.
​
MAX KIDMARK:- They've certainly both been very popular and the racing has been very good too. So far we have seen quite an assortment of support races. Which one have you enjoyed the most?
​
POSH ROB:- For me it’s the Classic Touring Cars.
BRADDERSTIG:- Most definitely the Aussie Utes. Loved them when THORS ran them.
​
MAX KIDMARK:- Yes they were good fun!! Will you be using the Sierra for Season Two of the Classic WTCC?
​
BRADDERSTIG:- I think there may be a change for season 2. I do like to try something new, I like a new challenge.
POSH ROB:- Yeah I’d quite like to try something new next season as well, loved the Sierra but their are a lot of cars I haven't tried yet.
​
MAX KIDMARK:- All sounds good!! Plenty to choose from and I hear there may even be a few more added for season two as well!!!
